Trayvon Martin

Trayvon Marin was just a young 17 year old who was on his way home coming from a store with a soda and a pack of skittles. A man named Zimmerman complained to the cops, that this young man walking in front of him was making him feel uncomfortable. The cops said specifically to go in his car and do not keep following this young man named Trayvon. Trayvon was on the phone with his girlfriend and then found himself shot in his chest, and suddenly taking his last gasps for air. This is such a tragic story because this young man was just taking a walk and did not mean to hurt anyone, nor get shot. He was visiting his fathers soon to be wife who lived in a gated and safe community. No one would expect this. This has been a very important and viral case. There are not many that think this neighbor hood watch killer should remain on the loose. He had no license to a gun and was not experienced. Also the fact that he killed a young man that was harmless. Their are certain circumstances that need to be taken. This man needs to be put away for murder. What if next week there is a little 10 year old girl that has a lollipop and looks suspicious to him and he shoots her because he obviously cannot listen to the cops and walk away and let the professionals take care of it. It's sad, and if they lets this go, which i do not think is going to happen, but it pretty much anyone can kill anyone and just say they did not feel comfortable. Man has too much power in this case, and it is unnecessary. That is why we have professionals that get paid to take care of these events. Now they are having a petition going around that everyone should sign. It is very important and this could save lives. This is the link http://t.co/sJ8BQnKb . This story has also raised many thoughts and questions. Could this be about race? The victim was African American and the shooter was not. I personally do think this could be another possible reason but this is just another reason if it is true that racism needs to stop. This was a cold-hearted decision and he needs to be punished for it. It was no "mistake"! Seriously! Was it also a "Mistake" that you continued on following him?! Yeah, probably not. IT WAS A CHOICE. A wrong choice, a cruel choice, a life punishing choice. We cannot let this man get away with it. What are we just going to wait for him to make his next "mistake". God i hope not. This really is ridicules that we even have to sign these petitions and have to fight to put away a man that shot a innocent human being! let me say that again AN INNOCENT human being, who only got to live 17 years of his life. Unlike the killer. The fact that this man is not turning him self in and not agreeing and saying that I just killed someone and that is not right, is a story in itself. This poor guy was just walking talking to his girlfriend and bang. Done. Nothing left. Funny how everything can just be gone in one second.

"The R Word"

Mental Retardation is nothing that should be talked about in a jokingly way. It is a very serious disease and changes a persons life. Ellen Seidman, mother of 9 year old Max, deals with hearing "The R Word" more than necessary. She is very concerned for her son who is growing up with Cerebral Palsy.

Personally I would never use the word in a unnecessary way because of the fact that it does hurt others feelings and it is a name of a disease not a name to call one another. It is indeed a negative perception and more people need to understand that this in no way is okay to be said.
Not only is "The R Word" hurtful but very disrespectful and many have started forming groups trying to fight this word to its end. This Word is in need of an ending and is mainly used in a very demeaning way. It is wrong and rude. Everyone probably has said it atleast once in their lives but that does not mean its right.

"There's already a lot of prejudice and misunderstanding about people with cognitive impairments, and this is one small thing I can do to help."
